Step 0: Gather your tools You will need... 1. A word processor. You've probably already got Microsoft Word on your PC. If not, you can download OpenOffice free of charge at http://www.openoffice.org. That's a full office suite with all the functionality of MS Office and which is fully compatible with MS Office files. It also has the ability to make PDF files you don't need Acrobat. 2. Some way to record video and get it onto a webpage. The prefered method is a digital camcoder. You're 90% of the way there if you've got one. You can use screen recording software such as Camtasia Studio if you DON'T have a digital camcorder. You can download a free trial of Camtasia Studio at www.techsmith.com. It's a fully operational 30 day trial... there are no limitations. You should have been able to earn enough money to buy a digital camcorder AND Camtasia studio by the time the trial expires. Or... if you're on the freeware bandwagon, you get one of these no cost alternatives: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/954-camstudio.html http://www.debugmode.com/wink   Step 1: Go to clickbank and find a product that you'd like to promote. For now, go to a category that you personally know something about. Then pick any product in that category that looks decent and which pays a commission of at least $20. You can get sophisticated on your next project. Our aim here is to earn some cash ASAP.   Step 2:Generate your clickbank hoplink. Click here to see how it's done.   Step 3: create a value added bonus This is where you create a bonus to bribe visitors to buy through your affiliate link. Since you picked a topic you know, it shouldn't be too difficult to write a 500 word tip sheet or record a 5 minute MP3 or Camtasia video of you talking about the subject. Just make it short, sweet and too the point. Don't be scared to reveal one or two secrets... this will help you later. Most importantly, tie it into the product you're promoting... and then make it seem as if the product is only haf as good or half as effective without your bonus. In other words, make the bonus seem more valuable than the actual product. Why are you going to do this? Because the customer can buy the product anywhere. They can even buy it through their own affiliate links. But then they'll only get half of what people are getting when they buy through your link. Make sense? Simple, straightforward, but devastatingly effective! (This step is expanded in the PDF file below).   Step 4: Make the deal Here's where the magic happens. Record yourself talking about the product. This will take 2 minutes. Just be natural and talk as if you're recommending it to a friend.  Your Monologue Should Go Something Like This "Hi, my name is Joe. I'm a professional dog groomer. One of the biggest challenges in my job is getting these guys to sit still. I was surfing the web trying to find a way to get dogs to sit still so that I can groom them without having to run after them. I spent several hours going to wikipedia, answers dot com, wikihow, ehow and several online discussions forums.  Have your ever tried to find some information and found NOTHING? It's frustrating. And I know for a fact that I'm not the only person who has this problem. SURELY someone has to have some tips to share?  Then, quite by accident, I found a website called hypnotize dogs dot com.  (Don't ask me what I typed into Google to find that!) (Load cookie) Concerned about commission theft? No worries... here's how to lock in your commissions: Commission thieves are modern day pirates of the Internet. Here are two of the easiest ways to ensure that you get paid. 1. Load the cookie while the visitor is still on your website. The first thing you can do is load the affiliate cookie onto the visitor's computer while they're at your site. And how do you do that? There are several ways to get the same result. Some are less elegant than others. * Invisible Popup The infamous invisible popup is the most popular way to do this. That's caveman style. The problem with this tactic is that it's so blatant, everybody who's been on the Internet for more than a few days can see that something weird is happening. And that turns people off. They think their computers are being infected with spyware while they're reading your page. Not a good thing. Next we have the... * <embed> tag This is better. This one works flawlessly in IE. Unfortunately not so well in Firefox. Firefox (which 39% of your viewers will be using) looks for the plugin which results this unsightly screen before it redirects... Ewww. That's nasty! * <iFrame> Look at this code: <IFRAME src="http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net" width=1 height=1> </IFRAME> Replace the url above with your affiliate link and then paste that into your HTML code just above the </body> tag. Now we're getting somewhere. This works in all browsers. Just a slight problem. Try loading a page with Audio or Video... Oops! So how do you do it covertly... without the visitor noticing? Clever? Sure. But more importantly, VERY effective. What happens is that everyone who visits your page is immediately cookied. You'll be credited for the sale even if they type the vendor's URL into the address bar of there browser. That means that your visitors never have to see any affiliate links on your page. In other words, you can have this (Don't click on these links. Roll your mouse over them and look at the status bar at the bottom of your browser)... instead of this. Smooth, right? I'll show an even better way a little later. That one's the absolute most ingenious way to do this. You would have noticed that it takes a few seconds to load these pages using the above methods. The technique I'm going to show you later is just 1 line of code that's totally unnoticable... even to people who are inspecting your code. In fact, I've done it on THIS page! The merchant's page does not open inside of your page. It's instant and there are absolutely no clues. 2. Tell your visitors that you're getting a commission for referring them. The second thing you can do is to be honest. Honesty is refreshing and people respond to it.  Tell the visitor that you get paid for every referral... and then make them a deal that they absolutely cannot refuse. Since they're already buying, they might as well buy through your link and get something extra. Have the customer email you back with receipt to claim their bonus. The trick here is the make the bonus seem more valuable than the product you're promoting. That doesn't mean longer or more substantial. There's a third technique called "ID Hijacking", but I'll show you that one later. It's a bit more complicated.There are several ways to do this.   Step 6: Put it online.   Step 7: Send traffic to the offer Don't wait for SEO traffic, and don't write articles. It takes too long. You have to wait for someone to search for your article, then wait for a certain percentage of those people to read the article. And then wait for a certain percentage of those people to click on the link in your article. And then wait for a certain percentage of those people to buy the thing you're trying to sell. LEAVE THAT FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE TIME TO WAIT AND WHO ARE HAPPY EARNING PEANUTS. We're interested in getting results ASAP. There's no "hoping" here. Go straight to Google AdWords and Yahoo Search Marketing. This is the direct route to a tangible, measurable result. (I.e. real money that you can count... and spend... as opposed to "stats".) Remember I told you that you're going to need a visa or mastercard with $20 on it? This is where you're going to use it. (Hint: If you're cheap or broke, you can buy credits on ebay for less than ten bucks.) Your keywords and ads should be approved within about 10 minutes after you go through the steps of setting up your first campaign (if it's during the week.) And you should be able to have people seeing your offer within 15 to 20 minutes. (UPDATE: how to be google slap proof) And most importantly, you should have made your first sale within 2 hours. There's really not much to say about Adwords. I don't understand the confusion. It's easy... you simply fill out the forms as they come along. You set your budget and bids to whatever you can afford and then you tweak your ads, bids and keywords over time as you notice patterns. If one particular keyword gets lots of searches and clicks, spend your time trying to get the most return from that keyword. Setup a unique ad group for that keyword and test several headlines, body copy and URL's. They key is to target the proper keywords. There are millions of articles online that show you how to select keywords. I won't repeat what's already been said. I will add this. And it's important. Think of the person who's going to look for the solution you're promoting. Who are they? Male? Female? How old? Are they married/single? This is important... stick with me. DO THEY DO RESEARCH ONLINE? That is the second most important question you should consider. The MOST important question is of course... do they have a credit card (or Paypal) and have they been known to spend money online. If the answer is no, then stop everything, poke yourself in the eye for being a moron... and move to something else. And don't waste your time trying to get water from a stone ever again. Ok, so when you've found a group of people who fit the above criteria, and you've got the profile of the ideal person who's most likely going to respond to your offer, you're going to take it step further. This is a little bit esoteric, but it's important. I want you to become that person for five minutes. Put yourself in their shoes. What are they thinking? What are they looking for? What would they type into Google to find the answer? Writing your ad should be a breeze when you've answered those questions. You will simply tap into the stream of thought the person is likely to be in when they'r searching for this solution. Common sense.   Step 8: Deliver the bonus (and gather data) You'll make some sales and people will email you for the bonus. The first thing you want to do is gather some data. Send everyone who emails you to a hybrid survey form. That's designed to get information about their dogs... size, age, breed etc. Check out gatewaymagic. That will give you a way to have people sort themselves into categories. Have the form forward them to an targeted aweber optin page and capture their email addresses. The first message in the autoresponder should be a data gathering exercise.  (OPTIONAL) Step 9: The backend By all means collect as many emails as you can. But be careful with how you use them. You'll see why in a few pages. Let's focus on your customers (or referrals for now). This is is as simple as getting these people into an opt-in form and then sending them to the video. Set the autoresponder software to send them another message a few days later. This time with a second video. An unadvertised bonus. Then do that again. But don't just give the third bonus away. Ask them to leave feeback on your first video. You will need to sign up for an account with http://audiogenerator.com to do this. And then email the third video after they leave feedback. It's absolutely CRUCIAL that you do it in this exact order. You're conditioning people to 1.) open your emails and 2.) interact and/or respond. More on that later.

No promises, obviously. Some people are morons. I believe that there are people who are just meant to fail. It's in their bones. They couldn't score in Amsterdam with a hundred dollar bill stuck to their foreheads.

Whatever. For the rest of us... this works because you are creating value in a market.
